It’s been a while lovelies but I’m back. After my last post, where I spoke about being unwell, life gave me another blow as I found that I had lost my job. After being someone who has had a job since I was 16, it was a real knock to my confidence to be starting again. I’m now on the up and beginning to feel much better about things. As people keep telling me ‘everything happens for a reason’ and I have to hold on to that and know bigger and better things will be on the horizon!

Because of this my spending has had to be really controlled lately but after getting an email from Voucher Codes for 40% off and free delivery at Body Shop I thought I could afford a little treat 🙂 The 40% seems to have finished now but if you check Voucher Codes they have a 30% off here

As a teen I used to LOVE body shop but I found that when I got to Uni and discovered Lush I lost my love for it. After a trip to Leeds with Sophie from SophieNicsBits, who loves a bit of a Body Shop, I thought I’d give it a go again. On our trip I picked up the Hemp hand cream and hand wash (buy one get one half price) after Sophie raved about how it is her hand saviour – see her post on it here

When I got the voucher through I thought it was a great opportunity to try more products so I headed online to see what I fancied.

I went for an old favourite, the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. I tried it a few years ago but stopped using it as sometimes it made my skin feel a bit tingly and sensitive but it does give a really good finish to the skin and matt base for make up. My skin has calmed a lot recently after a new skincare routine so thought o would give it a go again.

I also decided I needed some eye cream as my eye area can get quite dry and flaky on the lids, with dark circles underneath. As I am a big Lush fan, I was interested to try the Nutriganics line as it boasts 98% natural ingredients. After trying out I am not too sure on the smell but it seems to soak in to the skin well. We will see if it makes much of a difference to my eye area!

I also wanted to try some of the hair care products. I suffer from a really dry, flaky, itchy scalp and use Head and Shoulders but I don’t find it gets rid of my flakes. When I saw that Body Shop have a Ginger Shampoo for a dry, flaky scalp I was really excited to pick it up and see if it makes a difference. It also smells amazing and reminds me of my favourite ginger beer!

I also went for the Banana Conditioner, as after reading a few reviews it seemed that it would be very moisturising and smell great. When it arrived it looked quite different to the picture with a bright yellow colour and a very sickly sweet smell. Hopefully it will work well on the hair.

What are your Body Shop faves? Do they have one product you couldn’t live without? As always let me know below.

One of life’s greatest pleasures is drinking a nice, hot cup of tea. Any time of the day, a cuppa can help you relax and unwind. My dad loves to drink it piping hot by slurping it straight from the mug, much to my hubbies distain, but that is another story!

I’m not sure where my obsession with Emma Bridgewater came from but it has grown over the past year. After posting my TK Maxx mini haul this week and mentioning my love for EB, I thought I would share my collection. I know it is a little different from some of my other posts but it is another bit of my world to share. Also The Duchess of Cambridge visited the factory this week so it has the royal seal of approval 🙂

I buy most of my EB from the outlet section of the website as it is a little cheaper and although they are slight seconds they are near perfect and each has a little bit of its own character. TK Maxx stock them sometimes but not often enough for my liking!

I have a range of mugs, cups and a rather lovely wedding plate.

My animal collection. The badger mug was for my hubby who has a random badger love stemming from uni days listening to weird and random YouTube vids like these!

The Mr and Mrs set came from the Emma Bridgewater factory in Stoke that we went to on the way back from our spa mini moon in October. Loved the factory and how much was on offer so I had to be careful not to spend too much!

I also have a set of Christmas mugs and a lovely set of mini mug candles.

Although my hubby isn’t too keen, my EB collection will continue to grow and is love to get sets of plates, bowls, etc… in the future. But that is for when we settle and become grown ups!

Do you have any collections you love (other than beauty products!)? Does anyone else have a love for EB? Leave a comment below and let me know your thoughts 😊

Hello lovelies,

I’m trying to get myself back in to blogging now I’m starting to feel a bit better and I thought I’d ease myself in with a post about one of my favourite shops – TK Maxx.

With TK Maxx I can take or leave the clothes and shoes but I absolutely love wandering around the home section when I’m bored or fed up. I love that the collection of stuff is so random and I usually come away with something weird and wonderful.

My most recent trip left me with these 3 little beauties:

A lovely notebook to write down some of my future blog ideas and maybe keep a bit of a diary of positive things to help keep me on track.

A lovely Jessica Custom Nail Colour in SHOWSTOPPER. I’ve only had my nails painted with Jessica when I’ve had them done at the salon so at £3 I thought it was a bargain.

But my favourite purchase has to be my Emma Bridgewater mug. I have an obsession with these mugs and although they are not cheap they are beautiful and always a great buy if you can find them in TK Maxx as they are much less than the retail price! I picked up this chicken mug as I have another with chickens on that I bought from the EB factory so now I have a pair. The hubby doesn’t see the attraction but I love my collection 😍

Who else has a love for TK Maxx? Can you find bargains or do you tend to get fed up with looking through so much stuff? As always let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Although I love watching beauty videos on YouTube (especially the lovely Pixiwoo ladies) and spending on new beauty buys, most days I don’t leave myself time to do a full face of make up. I love to look good but I also love to have a little bit more time in bed! With this in mind I thought I would share my two make up essentials that I never leave the house without.

I tend to have regular breakouts or scarring left from these on my chin so need to cover up.

After my morning skincare routine, which currently includes moisturising with my Grandma’s beauty staple of thick Nivea cream, I prime my skin with Benefit POREfessional . I love that this has a little colour so it smooths my face and makes it look a bit healthier and a bit less walking dead!

The primer itself doesn’t help me feel confident enough to leave the house. The spots/scars always get the MAC treatment with my Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20. This is my saviour and covers so well. I feel as though I don’t need anymore coverage with this and can leave the house with primer and concealer alone.

If I’m feeling a bit fancy I might even put on a little mascara but I don’t always get that carried away! 😊 That said when I’m not at work, on special occasions or when we have visitors at work I love getting made up.

What products can you not leave the house without? Does a no make up look fill you with dread or leave you feeling free? As always let me know your thoughts below.

After taking a little break I thought I’d do a bit of a change of pace with my posts today. I have been trying to get myself out of a real funk recently and one thing that still helps is looking at our wedding album.

I didn’t think being married would change anything. I thought we’d bumble along the same with my just having the hassle of changing my last name. Honestly though, something has changed. I can’t really put my finger on what but it feels different. It feels secure. I don’t know if it was the nerves before the wedding that have now settled, but it’s a nice feeling.

I won’t go in to detail about the whole day as it would end up as a mammoth post but I loved planning the little touches and ended up with a look and feel that I was really happy with.

The theme was a sort of woodland/rustic/vintage vibe and it worked so well on a sunny day in a October.

Make Up

Make up wise I chose to do my own with help to get the light smoky look on the eyes. I am so glad I did my homework for a good base as I had a mega cluster of spots that popped up on my chin on the day so really needed the coverage! I went for Armani Luminous Silk in the end, as after LOADS of testers, it sat the best on the skin and photographed well with no flashback. I am obviously biased but I think it looks great in the photos!

I used:

Primer- Benefit Porefessional

Concealer – MAC Prolongwear in NW20 (a bit darker than the foundation shade I usually go for but it sits well on the skin)

Base – Georgio Armani Luminous Silk in 4.5

Bronzer – Collection Bronze Glow Matt Powder in Terracotta

Blush – No7 in Soft Damson

Eyes – Smashbox Eyeshadow Primer / Naked2 Palette / Benefit They’re Real Mascara / Sleek Eau La La Liner in Cocoa 327 / Sleek Brow Pencil in Dark

Lips – Vaseline / Sleek Eau La La Liner in Lingerie 214 / Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in Beige Trench 02

Our photographer put loads more pics on his blog here if you want to see more amazing shots of the day (my sister may kill me as she hates the ones of her with no make up but I just love them all!)

Have any fellow bloggers/readers been married recently and still love looking at your pics? Are any of you getting married soon and can’t wait? As always comment below and let me know what’s in your head.
