When getting ready in the morning, we could all do with an easy skincare routine to follow. As a busy mum, I definitely need something quick and simple.

I have recently made changes to the skincare products I use, and now have new skincare essentials that I use daily.

My new morning skincare routine only has 4 products that are quick and easy to use, and smell great.

I start with cleansing my face using Angels on Bare Skin from Lush. Ground almonds, lavender and rose are it’s main ingredients. So not only does it smell lush, it exfoliates and calms the skin in one. It’s a solid cleaner that you have to massage in to a paste before rubbing onto the skin. Then you simply wash it off with warm water and pat the skin dry. I like to use a muslin cloth soaked in warm water to just wipe of any left over cleanser before drying the skin, which gives my face another light exfoliation too.

I then tone with the Pore Minimising Tonic from Your Good Skin. It helps me wipe away any left over grime, without being too harsh on the skin. I just use a cotton pad, though I am keen to explore reusable pads to cut down on some of my waste this year.

I love the Skin Balancing Concentrate from Your Good Skin. I use this before I moisturise just to even out any imbalances in my skin. I’ve found that since adding this in to my routine, I have had less dry patches on my face. I just use two pumps and massage it in to my skin.

I then moisturise using the Vitamin Enriched Face Base from Bobbi Brown. I love this moisturiser as it has Shea Butter in which leaves the skin plumped and cushioned. It leaves a great base for make up, or just a matte look for those make up free days.

And that’s it! How quick and easy does that sound? I’ve filmed the routine for my YouTube channel so you can see how simple it is. I’ll link the video below so it’s easy for you to watch too!

Let me know if you have any tips for making your morning skincare routine quick and easy. And also, if you have any products that you can’t live without and think I should check out.

Disclaimer: I was sent the Your Good Skin products last year as part of their #28daychallenge to review on Instagram. All opinions about the products are entirely my own and not influenced by the fact that they were gifted to me. I continue to use the products several months on, without incentive to do so.Β

I’m not someone who loves a bath regularly, as I much prefer showering, but when I do have a soak a little Lush lovely popped in there makes it worth it. Now that little Freddie has taken up camp inside, I am enjoying more baths to help relieve the aches and pains. I’ve ran out of my little Lush stockpile I got for my birthday so needed to stock up on some bath bombs quickly!

After I little trip to LushΒ this week, I picked myself up the Christmas Bathtime Favourites box (no longer available online). It came in a lovely, Christmasy box (put away to reuse next year!) and smelt great when I opened it, not that the hubby agreed and he made me take it out of the room immediately! πŸ˜‚

I have been dying to try the Father Christmas bath bomb, so I ran myself a bath and popped it in. It smelt amazingly sweet and as it fizzed away the bath turned an unexpected shade of bright green!

Once it had fizzed away I could turn off the lights (and stupidly noisy fan), light some candles and stick Dinner Date on the iPad (guilty viewing pleasure!) Bliss!

What are your favourite Lush products? Or are there any other bath products you couldn’t live without, especially when pregnant?

As always leave me a little note in the comments section below 😊

I’m not going to lie – sometimes being a teacher has its perks! Regular holidays sometimes mean catching up with work that I didn’t have time for (or maybe couldn’t be bothered to do!) during the term, but sometimes it is time to relax and get away. This time the hubby decided to book the week off work, so we booked a few days away to one of our favourite places – Moddershall Oaks Spa.

After our wedding we went there on a mini-moon and had the most amazing few days. The food in the restaurant is amazing and definitely won over the hubby – what is the saying about food being the way to man’s heart?! We had decided to go back for our first anniversary, but then I got sent an amazing offer that we couldn’t resist so we ended up going a bit sooner.

It is such a relaxing place where the staff are attentive and welcoming. We love the restaurant, particularly the steak that get served with half of it on the plate and the other half in a mini steak pie on the side! The treatments are amazing and I could have fallen asleep on the table after massage! If you visit their website and sign up for the mailing list you will see what I mean about amazing offers!

Another great thing about visiting Moddershall Oaks has to be the fact that the Emma Bridgewatet factory is so close! I have mentioned my love for their pottery before, so you’ll understand how visitng the factory would make my day!
We ate lunch in the cafe, peered through the windows to see the pieces being made and bought a few more bits for my collection. If you haven’t heard of Emma Bridgewater before you must have a look at their website too!

I love that it is as old as me 😊

If you are planning time away with your other half or friend I can’t recommend Moddershall enough. Has anyone been and loved I as much as us? As always drop a comment below

I have literally found my hand and nail saviour! After a recommendation from my friend Sophie, I tried a tube of The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector and am so glad that I did.

The smell took me a little while to get used to but I now really like it – it’s quite earthy but not too strong. I use it every morning and night after my skincare routine and my hands are now super soft. Even the hubby has noticed a difference! I can’t stop rubbing my hands together to feel the softness – I must either look like some weird pervert or super villain. I can clarify I am neither! I just really like the feel of my hands!

The biggest thing I have noticed is that my nails are now really strong. My nails were so brittle and broke all the time but they now feel much harder and a lot less bendy. Since ruining them with the removal of a gel polish after my wedding they seem to be even better than they were before.

If I could recommend one product for all those who love looking after their hands and nails this would be it.

Although I love watching beauty videos on YouTube (especially the lovely Pixiwoo ladies) and spending on new beauty buys, most days I don’t leave myself time to do a full face of make up. I love to look good but I also love to have a little bit more time in bed! With this in mind I thought I would share my two make up essentials that I never leave the house without.

I tend to have regular breakouts or scarring left from these on my chin so need to cover up.

After my morning skincare routine, which currently includes moisturising with my Grandma’s beauty staple of thick Nivea cream, I prime my skin with Benefit POREfessional . I love that this has a little colour so it smooths my face and makes it look a bit healthier and a bit less walking dead!

The primer itself doesn’t help me feel confident enough to leave the house. The spots/scars always get the MAC treatment with my Pro Longwear Concealer in NW20. This is my saviour and covers so well. I feel as though I don’t need anymore coverage with this and can leave the house with primer and concealer alone.

If I’m feeling a bit fancy I might even put on a little mascara but I don’t always get that carried away! 😊 That said when I’m not at work, on special occasions or when we have visitors at work I love getting made up.

What products can you not leave the house without? Does a no make up look fill you with dread or leave you feeling free? As always let me know your thoughts below.
