Well hello there! I thought I’d write a post to review my progress of my goals for 2017 so far.
This is going to be a quick post as basically I have done a big fat nothing! Although I suppose my goals are for the whole year so I shouldn’t beat myself up too much…right?!
As you’ll see from the blog, putting more time in to it and going self hosted hasn’t happened as I managed a grand total of ZERO blog posts over January…ooops!
January 3rd saw the end of my maternity leave and my return to work. I was really apprehensive about going back and how I would manage but it hasn’t been as bad as I feared. Little loves it at the childminder’s and with my parents (she splits her day between these when I’m at work), which makes me feel more comfortable leaving her. While I have really enjoyed some of the things I’ve been working on and being back with the kids in school, I have struggled to juggle mum stuff, housework, work I’ve been bringing home and the blog and social media accounts.
Getting Out More
Getting out and about has also been a big fat fail. I am running a 10k in April and thought that training would help me get out but I’ve managed 1 run so far! We’ve not planned any days out yet. I think I need to be a bit more proactive there!
Sort out the house
Sorting stuff out around the house has been slow, but we have thrown away some things and tidied a few cupboards and draws. I’ve been obsessed with watching organisation and minimalist videos on YouTube recently. While these are great motivation, I find I then get distracted doing something else and then the motivation crawls to the corner of the room and dies! I find that when I do get a bit of spare time all I want to do is sit down and do not a lot as I’m so knackered! Little still isn’t sleeping through every night, although she has got better, which just makes the days so much harder!
Hopefully my February update will be jam packed with all I’ve achieved in my quest to get my shit together! Or not. We’ll see.
How do you get motivated when you really can’t be bothered? Any tips let me know below!

My name is Becky and I’m an Instagram Addict!
Although I only started Little, Big and Me recently, I have blogged for a couple of years. I have always been a very occasional blogger and have tended to pick it up and put it down as I felt motivated. But, the one thing I’ve always kept up with is Instagram.
I spend far too much time scrolling through people’s pages, liking and commenting on photos and replying to comments on my photos. I find I can get lost in those little squares sometimes and I have my phone in my hand more than I should some days! Although its not all bad, Instagram is a form of social media that I find really positive (most of the time!)
There is a fantastic community of people on there who share stories, experiences and their lives. I first met an amazing community of women who were going through fertility issues. I was able to share my diary of my fertility treatment with a group of people who really understood. The support was invaluable, especially when people around me in ‘real life’ couldn’t understand. Many of those on the fertility journey have now become part of this fantastic community of parents that exists in Instagram too. Again it has become a place to discuss all things mum and see snapshots of life from some beautiful babies as they grow and develop.
I love to share parts of daily life and the fact that its so instant really helps. Unlike blog posts that need writing, editing, and links adding, among other things. I also really enjoy the comments and likes (I’m a bit of a like whore) from such a wide range of people. It enables conversations to open with people around the world, and closer to home too.
I’m lucky enough that I’ve actually met some lovely people through Instagram that I would call my friends. I’ve been able to connect with people in real life, through friendships made in squares of photos online!
So yes I’m an Instagram Addict, but it’s had a great affect on my life so far.
Here are some of my favourite Instgram photos I’ve posted:
As you can see, there is a bit of a theme! Well it is all about Little, Big and Me after all!

Little Big Love
Anyone that knows me is well aware of my addiction to Emma Bridgewater. So, seeing as we were (almost) passing recently, it would have been rude not to pay a visit to the factory.
When we got there it was absolutely rammed because it was half term. A great start to our child free night away – a place full of kids! We decided to attempt to find somewhere to sit and have a treat in the cafe and, after a bit of searching, we managed to find a seat tucked away at the back near the loos!
I decided on a latte and brownie and Big chose a (very strong) coffee and scone. Everything comes out in gorgeous, mismatched Emma Bridgewater pottery. Big’s scone (is it s-gone or s-cone?!) was really tasty but annoyingly my brownie was so dry! Like, sand in the mouth, spitting out crumbs dry! I love brownies but all can be forgiven when surrounded by all the pretties!
After our cafe stop we had a walk through to the shop. I was like a kid in a sweet shop! So much beauty that I could add to my collection. I could have spent a fortune, if we had money to spend, but managed to restrain myself. I say I did, Big helped reign me in a little! There are two shops at the factory. The gift shop and factory store. I chose some bits for myself from Big and Little for Christmas, and also managed to find a special set to buy Little too.
Having spent up we decided (Big decided) that it was time to leave before I saw anything else! This was the latest of a few visits and I love it at the factory, although Big doesn’t enjoy it as much as I do!
What is your obsession? Does your other half appreciate it as much as you do?
