…baby! We had decided we didn’t want to find out and we are sticking with our choice (even though I am curious!)

So we are Team Yellow all the way.   Cannot wait to find out in May.

I was pretty nervous this morning and, as I hadn’t felt little Freddie move since my routine night time toilet trip, I couldn’t help but worry. Hubby kept telling me baby was sleeping but I’m sure it’s totally natural to be worried before a scan.

When we got to the hospital there were already lots of people waiting and a sign to say there were system issues this morning and waiting times may be longer than usual. I didn’t mind, but my very full bladder did! After holding it in for what seems like days, we got called in and as the sonographer scanned we could see a little beating heart 😊

She talked us through each part in so much detail and I was amazed by the beauty of the spine and little foot 😍

Although I only have a tiny bump, the baby is measure perfectly. Apparently I have strong stomach muscles holding it all in – I hope that means after birth my tummy will return to its nice flat state?!

I feel like we can now start to think nursery and buying baby things. Exciting times ahead!

Hello to all the new followers I seem to have accumulated over the last 2 days. If I’d have realised blogging about Lush stuff would cause such a frenzy I’d have included more along the way! 😊

For those who are new to the blog, get used to a lot of random posts. Yes some beauty will pop up, but at the moment a lot of baby related posts will also fit in the mix as it is pretty important in my life at the moment! Hope you enjoy a bit of my life and the randomness that lives inside my head!

As its sale time and we are now officially half way through the pregnancy, me and hubby thought we would go and look at some prams! It’s such a big purchase that we want to get right, but honestly had no idea where to start. I’d love it if someone could just tell us which one to get!

After looking in the Internet, talking to friends and stalking pram pushers in the high street to read the brand in the side of prams I liked, we had a few ideas on some we’d like to look at.

We took a little trip to Toys R Us, Mamas and Papas and Mothercare, thinking Mamas and Papas would be a quick pit stop as weren’t bowled over by there products for the prices they charge! But we fell I love with one from their range 😍

The Armadillo Flip XT travel system. Amazing! We felt that at £720 for the bundle it was a good value sale offer for the spec. But we are total newbies so might be completely wrong!

It seems so much more stylish (less alien spaceship type than some!) and better quality than others. Although I like the real, I think the navy looks a bit more classic and is hubby’s favourite too. I had originally thought I wanted a Silver Cross but the one we tried looked and felt very cheap.

The ideal would be an Uppababy Vista and although we haven’t tried it, it seems perfect! But it stretches the budget a little too far 😬

So what to buy? We are leaning towards putting out deposit down at Mamas and Papas at the weekend unless something else pops up between now and then.

Any recommends on great travel systems that are value for money but have great style as well?

Anything we should definitely avoid?

Today marks the end of week 19! That means tomorrow we’ll be half way through 😬

Baby is apparently the size of a Game Boy 😂

I’m starting to feel little flutters/pops that I think is baby moving – can’t wait to feel more over the next few weeks!

Headaches have been a problem this week so I’m trying to drink plenty of water. I’m trying to find a way to keep myself drinking more to help.

While the sickness seems to have gone now (YAY!), I am still getting some pain and cramping. I’ll be glad to get to our next scan on 4th Jan and see little Freddie wiggling around again, especially as the bump is barely there at the moment (the bloat has massively gone down since my last bump pic!) We’ll be looking at buying things after this as I’ll feel better knowing that things are ok.

We would love any tips for essentials we couldn’t do without. Leave a comment below to let me know your must haves for a first baby.

I am a little addicted to Instagram and over the last few weeks lots of people have been baking and making some yummy looking Christmas treats, so I thought I would get in on the action!

Picture from google search ‘Christmas treats’ – mmmmm 😋

I’ve always wanted to try my hand at making fudge. It seems so easy to make and if you try and buy it from a pix and mix it ends up costing about £100 for 3 pieces!

I searched for the easiest looking recipe I could, which turned out to be this one from the Feed Your Family for £20 website. It had to be easy as my last baking stint I went through last summer ended in disaster with a hospital trip and strapped up fingers (but that is another story! 😂)

So easy Toblerone fudge it was. After melting the Toblerone, chocolate and condensed milk in the slow cooker…

…I added the icing sugar. Cue kitchen looking like a snowstorm – that stuff gets everywhere!! ❄️

I then had to stir every 10 minutes (not an exact science and I definitely may have had a little nap and missed some stirs! 💤). After 80 mins it was ready to put in a tray to set in the fridge.

Getting it in the the tray was a nightmare! A too hot to touch slow cooker + sticky unset fudge = burnt hands ands lots of swearing! But I did it and after setting it the fridge it doesn’t look half bad 😊

I haven’t tasted it yet as I don’t want to ruin the illusion. I’ve packaged it up to give as little treats to family tomorrow – hope it’s half decent!

What Christmas treats have others made? I’m sure there will be plenty on offer tomorrow 🎄

That is the question! This time of year there are so many sales, my favourites have to be Next and Emma Bridgewater, and I can’t help but spend! But is it always right to buy…?

Early pregnancy is so exciting. There is a little one growing in there and all you want to do is look at baby things (and freak out about how it’s going to come out!!), but then the little voice inside brings you back to reality. There are so many things that can happen in pregnancy, when is the right time to start buying things? I can’t resist a sale, but a baby related sale is even cuter!

We had decided to wait until after our 20 week scan but I can’t help but look! I have seen so many nice things for baby to wear, play with and sleep/ride around in! But today scrolling through baby related things online, I decided that buying things isn’t going to change anything! Waiting 2 weeks to buy things isn’t going to change the outcome of our 20 weeks scan! So, I ended up buying a few things that we’ll need – hats and baby grows – and if I can resist I’ll wait until after 4th Jan… 😁

In non baby related sale news, the Emma Bridgewater sale starts tomorrow. My bank account may take a serious hit! Sooooo much that I want, but how much can I get away with without the hubby noticing? 😂

For others who are expecting or are already mummies, how much did others buy there little bump? And when did you start?

For those who are spendaholics like me – what are you favourite sales to splash the cash on?

As always comment below and let me know.
