I had intended to post a NOTD about one of my cute little polishes from my Ciate Advent Calendar but after applying it in a rush I forgot to take a picture and as it had chipped by the next day so I couldn’t take one šŸ˜ž

Instead I thought I would post about my New Years Eve bargain. After a browse round H&M I came home with this bad boy for the measly sum of Ā£1! The colour appeared a little split but after a good shake it was back to its original self.

When applying the polish it is quite runny so you have to be careful to wipe a little off the brush. Also the thick lid / handle is a little bulky to use. I absolutely love the shade though so it can over look these little niggles.

This is the first H&M polish I have bagged so I’m not sure what the staying power is like. Let’s hope it lasts longer than a day before I manage to chip it!

Are you a fan of H&M polishes? Do you have any tips or products that stop your nail varnish chipping? As always you know where the comment box is – get typing šŸ˜Š

My nails have been quite a feature of the blog since I started it. I used to have lovely long nails that were quite strong and as I said in an earlier postĀ I ruined them with gel overlays šŸ˜ž I have been searching for a long lasting gel polish and although I loved the colour of my Barry M Gelly it cracked really quickly. The lovely festive nail polish I posted about last week ended up lumpy and smudged as I have to admit I am terrible at painting my nails! But Maybelline are my nail saviours šŸ’… I used the 7 day wear in Extreme Blackcurrant with my Save the Nail base coat and top coat and they look like they have been done by a pro! My cousin even asked me earlier where I’d had them done. Let’s hope this does what it says on the tin and lasts more than a day before I’ve chipped half of it off!

One of my favourite places to shop on the high street has to be Boots. I always go in there for one thing and come out with ten! This week I went in for a nail varnish and then spiedĀ Ā lots of other offers and new bits I wanted to try.

While looking for my perfect shade of nail varnish I passed by the make up brushes section and as always there was a great offer on Real Techniques. I said in a previous post I wanted to try an eye shadow brush so decided I would go for it and got the shading brush, which I have since found out is the perfect size for applying shadow to my crease. Result! I also decided to get a new beauty blender as my old one is on its last legs andĀ when I got the new one out of the packaging I realised how disgusting the old one actually was!

On the way to the make up section I then had to pass the hair products and saw aĀ BabylissĀ teasing brush that I hadn’t noticed before. I have been fed up of my hair going flat too quickly recently so decided to invest. Best decision ever! I used it for the first time yesterday and my hair is still nice and big this morning.

I finally managed to get to the make up counters and saw some of the new CollectionĀ Lasting Gel colours. After being slightly disappointed with theĀ Barry MĀ gelly chipping quite quickly I thought I would give these a go and see how it compared. Shade wise I was looking for something festive so went for the Vixen Red (3) and Goldfinger (16)Ā and I have not been disappointed with the result. I think the gold is a winner for me so let’s hope they last! I have used my Save the Nail top coat again so if this polish chips it may be time to try another top coat.Ā It was spend Ā£5 and get a free lip butter so got the lip butter in CappuccinoĀ to try.

Once I got to the till I got a voucher for a free Benefit primer. I love Porefessional so got very excited but once I got to the counter I was told they had run out. Boo šŸ™ I have two already so can’t complain too much but it always nice to get something free.

What shop do you always go a little crazy in? Have you tried any of these products or love anything similar? Please comment below and let me know.

After trying theĀ Save the NailĀ Repair and Rescue TreatmentĀ and being a little disappointed I decided to give some of the other products a go that I bought while they were 3 for 2 at Boots recenty.

I chose theĀ Toughen Up Base CoatĀ and theĀ 45 Second Top CoatĀ in the hope that they would help make my nails stronger and my polishes last longer so I wouldn’t have to have gel nails done again. I also got aĀ Barry M GellyĀ in Almond. I picked it as it was almost the shade I had for my wedding and love it.

After filing and polishing my nails with my new 6 in 1 buffer I applied the base coat which dried really quickly. It left a really shiny, smooth base. I chose to apply two coats of the polish as I managed to smudge and chip about 3 of my nails on the first coat! The colour looked amazing and seemed a lot thicker than the standard polishes. I hope this means it will last longer than a day or two that I usually get out of polish.

Once the polish had been on a couple of minutes I couldn’t wait to try the top coat and see if it really did try that quick! I applied one thin layer and gave it a minute then braced myself to see if it was touch dry and it was šŸ˜Amazing stuff – I can’t wait to see how long it lasts šŸ™‚

Now to buy moreĀ Barry M Gellys!Ā Why not comment with some of the colours you love šŸ™‚

About 4 weeks ago I had gel overlays on my nails at my local salon. I had tried gel polish with them before but it cracked really badly so they said the gel overlays would be better as they were thicker. HUGE mistake! The polish cracked after a few days and when I went to get it removed my nails took a beating as they soaked them and then scraped off the gel. Over the last couple of weeks most of my nails have broken off and peeled really badly. Then I bought Repair & Rescue TreatmentĀ byĀ Save the Nail and it has quickly become my new favourite product. I wish I had a taken a photo of my nails before I first applied it but in two days they already look stronger and healthier. I have to apply it every day for 7 days, remove, then start the process again until they look repaired and rescued!

My poor nails :( This is after two days using the Repair and Rescue Treatment and they already look better :)

Nail heaven in a bottle!

Nail heaven in a bottle! Currently 3 for 2 at boots which I’m not going to lie is one of the reasons I chose it but so glad I did!

*UPDATE* I thought I would update this after using the treatment for 7 days.

I don’t actually thin the treatment made a huge difference to my nails so I am a little disappointed, however it does say to repeat the process so maybe if I were to apply it again they would get stronger.
